I will probably be in need of a late 1920 style stock. Just checked with Gunstocks Inc. they no longer manufacture 1920 stocks. Any other sources out there that we know about? Also looked back through past posts. What ever happened to this potential source: http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/8550858Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I could use one too. I hate that Gunstocks Inc. quit making them, the stock set I got from them for an old 99 is very nice quality.

Stever had a shop in Nebraska copy a coupe for him but the name of the shop escapes me at the moment. Should be in the back posts. Boses or something.

Bosses Bose of Nebraska is the Nebraska shop, they almost surely have a blank to make a copy of or can duplicate yours.

Perhaps we could pool together a few representative stocks for our Savages- old cracked/broken/decrepit ones- to be used by anyone who needs a pattern to have a new one turned. Maybe in a sticky where one can state what one has available? Should a forum member need the use of one, he could contact the owner, and by covering the mailing costs to and fro would have the use of it temporarily. Just a thought.
I'll start it off by offering a straight grip perch belly stock for a hard rubber butt plate, 1899H-style. It is kind of scabby but solid and complete and would make a dandy pattern (why I bought it).

I'm waiting for Joe to buy that duplicator and start doing it for a living.

These are the sales numbers for the M1920 and M1926.
Does anyone have the serial number that correspond to those years? I ask because the action I'm picking up is in the 12,3XX range and not a part of these production numbers.
Year Qty Serial (stating at 1000)
1920 4426 - 5426 1921 462 - 5888 1922 1203 - 7091 1923 1182 - 8273 1924 941 - 9214 1925 687 - 9901
Total 8901

Ramrod340 has already started to collect 99 butt stock templates. He has F, EG, and R so far. He already does mauser stocks, so a 1920 should be a breeze. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...e_Offering_Stock_Duplication#Post9365119

Best I can tell the change over point is somewhere in the 10570-10580 range. Might be some overlap of numbers.
High number is 13006 or 13016 sometime in 1929.
I would guess there was a large run when the new model came out and then production tapered off very fast. Most of the last version might have been made in the same run. The last rifles had no cut for the clip (starting around 123xx) and a ramped front sight (starting around 128xx).

It looks like they had excess inventory when the Model 20-1926 was introduced - this is dated January 3, 1927.
