1927 99G in 300 Savage. Federal Blue box 150 gr. at 100 yards off a bag. Lyman tang sight is 8 inches high cranked all the way down:

Other thing u can try is using a 6 o'clock hold.
But I doubt that will even bring it down enough.

I've got a Marbles rear barrel sight - would swap it for the tang sight. I'm betting one of the elevator adjustments on the barrel sight would bring your groups right at dead center.
