I went to grab a 5c today, thinking it was more than I need/want to spend,

I grabbed a 5s and started comparing pics I was taking in the store,

It appeared the 5s was giving noticeably superior pics almost every shot,,Both are 8 MP capable, the S has a few additional tweaks optically.

You's who have btdt, your thoughts?

Also do the iphones have any "zoom" or is it fixed power?

The camera of the 5S has an electronic zoom, the lens doesn't actually move but you can zoom it.

The cameras are different between the two, I don't know to what extent but I do know the 5S has the dual flash and records video in HD which the 5C won't. The 5S does a lot of stuff the 5C won't, I can't see that it'd be worth the downgrade just to save a hundred bucks.

Put your thumbs on the screen bracketing what you want to zoom in on and pull them apart slowly.

My wife has had her 5C for a year and I just showed how to do that this past week! And I was damn polite when I showed her . . . :-)

Interesting enough, the camera on the iPhone 6 now accepts third party lenses, that has to be a first for a phone camera.

The wireless carriers I've looked into are giving away the 5's...cost between the two is not a factor. For a 6, you can pay upwards of 2 bills..

It's not just the iPhone 6 that accepts third party lenses, they're available for my stone-age iPhone 4. And of course, everything in between...

^^^This^^^. Check with BestBuy. I got my iPhone 5s free plus a $150 BestBuy gift card.
And I think the 5s is supposed to have a faster processor than the 5c. Mine is blazing fast compared to my old iPhone 5.
