I understand that the 168 is one of the tough ones. Will it routinely exit at WSM speeds, even on close shots? Through shoulders?

I have no experience with that bullet, but wonder why you'd go lighter than 180 with a fast .30?

Mark me down as a true believer in the 180 ballistic tip...

My brother got back last week from an elk hunt in New Mexico. He killed a 320-class bull with his .30-06 shooting my 168 grain BT reloads. Three bullets through the lungs exited. He caught the finisher, a high shoulder shot. It weighed 111.4 grains and expanded to .752" x .522." Distance was 158 yards. The bull was dead after the first shot but where we come from you keep shooting until they stop moving.

Nevermind. I thought it was your way of saying they wouldn't work on elk. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
