I understand that the 168 is one of the tough ones. Will it routinely exit at WSM speeds, even on close shots? Through shoulders?

I have no experience with that bullet, but wonder why you'd go lighter than 180 with a fast .30?

How many elk have you killed?
I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.

My brother got back last week from an elk hunt in New Mexico. He killed a 320-class bull with his .30-06 shooting my 168 grain BT reloads. Three bullets through the lungs exited. He caught the finisher, a high shoulder shot. It weighed 111.4 grains and expanded to .752" x .522." Distance was 158 yards. The bull was dead after the first shot but where we come from you keep shooting until they stop moving. MV 2815.

Nevermind. I thought it was your way of saying they wouldn't work on elk. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
