They are just going to make LH short action models in stainless. grin

I would not hold my breath for any LH models again.

With the use of CNC machining, wouldn't it just take a new program to make some lefties? Do they really need additional machines or is it that they are currently atproduction capacity with the right handed versions?

I was under the assumption that the parts were still being made in the US but assembly was moved to Portugal. I am with you yukonphil, it would be nice to see them being made again.

The development part for a mirror image program takes nothing. It's the investment and time to set up cells. If they did, it'd probably just be .270s and /06s so why bother. Ruger's got that covered.

I passed along a tip on a LH 70 Classic Stainless in 300 win mag a couple years back and would now give my eye teeth for it. If they ever come back with a LH mod 70 I know exactly what to get.

Found two NIB LH Model 70 Featherweights in a small gunstore this summer on a short vacation trip, a .270 WSM and a 7mm WSM. Both were priced very down to earth - less than what even used ones fetch on gunbroker.

I had no earthly use for either one but bought the .270 WSM just 'cause, ya know, it was a NIB LH Model 70 and I didn't figure to see another one of those in half a dozen blue moons. Turned out to have a very well timed, smooth action, nicely figured wood and a really good shooter to boot. smile

Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery.
Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
