What are your thoughts and opinions on this gun. I have a chance to get one in a deal and think it will be good addition to my elk hunting battery......

I had a blued T3 Lite in 300 Win, and a stainless SuperLight in 300 Win from Cabela's. Plus a T3 Lite in 300 WSM. All were very accurate... Wins were fed handloads, the WSM factory-rolled.

Recoil from prone sucks as you'd expect. A handful of shots was about the max for me and I don't think I'm sensitive to recoil. Recoil from a bench didn't bother me with a Limbsaver. 40 rounds from the bench wasn't a problem, but I know some people think 5 shots is painful.

If you've got specific questions, fire away...

I've got a T-3 Lite in 270 WSM. It was a brutal recoil until I put a limbsaver on it. Now it is easy and I love the accuracy.

Wyo 260 -

My T 3 lite is only a lowly 270 that I bought new in 2003. I love it and it ain't for sale.

I would expect the recoil of the W Mag to be the only possible problem. However with the Limbsaver that might be solved.

Ain't the T 3 lites WONDERFUL to carry and hunt??

Good luck with yours.

I traded a .458 win for it so recoil will not be too much of an ordeal.... Just wanted a light, useful caliber to carry in the mountains. I have put a straight 6x weaver on it in Talley one pieces and its still the lightest gun in my cabinet.

The recoil lug arrangement of the T3 starts to concern me at 300 mag. levels.
I've nothing to base my concern on and have a T3 in 270. Just per my assessment from looking at mine I wouldn't want a 300 mag in that configuration.

Got one for a Yukon hunt, Talley bases/rings with Zeiss scope and a limbsaver pad. 180 Accubond over H-1000 gives me ragged one hole groups at 100. Why buy a custom or another brand "for the action" when an off the shelf rifle is capable.

I got a chance to shoot it a few times today, first impressions are that this gun may be with me a long time. Recoils is less then my .338s were and this is lot lighter. Handy and accurate with the handful of factory loads I had on hand. I am to tailor a load with 180 gr. partitions and hunt the heck out of it.

Fantastic !

Seriously, periodically check the recoil lug. I've not had ANY problem with my 270, but it's a long way from a 300.
That much force 'could' cause a problem. Just keep it in mind.

I just check the recoil lug of my T-3 SS 338 and it looked as it had never been fired. I have well over 200 full power loads through it and a bunch of less than full. I wouldn't worry about the lug.

Have had one for couple years, very accurate and light. Even with a one pound suppressor on the end of the barrel. Shoots fusions 180 into nice tight groups. My wife has claimed it and i claimed her 18" kimber montana .243, because all she ever shoots if the tikka 300 win mag!

My T3 Lite in 300 WSM has just over 500 rounds fired through it, not only is it extremely accurate, there is no wear on the recoil lug. Not sure why one is so concerned about the lug.
