Heinz....... I dam near can't have anything else myself ! (I been known to take my own bottle to some of the places in town who only have "nasty catsup" .... I once, while making bbq sauce, I made Heinz ketchup!!! using wally world junk ketchup as the base > I took and bought 10 different bottles/brands and added "my stuff" to each measured amount = some ended up "a" bbq sauce , some was just so so /hint of bbq taste ...but I did turn ""wally world junk ketchup"" into Heinz....

Heinz is by far the best store bought ketchup. I'm certain I could make better if I took the effort, but I won't. The only people I know that don't like Heinz don't like it because of politics. Sorry, some things will prevent me from using certain products, but I'm not giving up my Heinz.

If we're building, and not buying, I'd offer the following:
good ground beef with some fat in it
NO, repeat: NO, powders, liquids, or other tschidt beyond a bit of salt and pepper, added to the raw meat to adulterate the flavor
cooked very carefully to avoid any charring
a good-quality bun (soft and fresh without and damned seeds stuck onto it)
a slice of good cheese that doesn't turn to liquid goo, but just sort of settles gently onto the patty
a slice of good tomato - one with very little snot
a leaf or two of good, green lettuce - not the hard white stuff
some white goop wouldn't hurt
ketchup (Heinz, of course, the rest is a poor imitation.)
mustard - good old, regular yellow French's, not some fancy-assed thing that overpowers everything else You have destroyed what would have been a good burger. Why? Keeping the meat clean for its natural flavor than killing said flavor with ketchup and mustard? As bad as dipping French fries in ketchup.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

Again, I differentiate between spoiling the flavor by introducing pollutants to the meat before it is cooked and enhancing the flavor with select condiments once it has been cooked.

Grilling pig burgers over apple wood tonight.
Condiments will include a light brush of bbq sauce, bacon, grilled onions and japs, lettuce, and a little Dukes. Maybe a dill pickle or 2....

Yup but not now for sure. Makes my belly ache just to think of it.
Consuming a pound of meat and sides these days would likely bring me to my knees at the porcelain.

Wow OCD about burgers. Nice to know I have company. Local chain restaurant makes a good burger, but when they serve it I tear it apart and rebuild. Bottom bun, ketchup, onion, pickle, burger, lettuce and top bun. Folks look at me kind of funny.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
