Thinking about putting it on a 300WM. I like the scope - lite weight, good optics, good adjustments, illuminated reticle done properly. Does everything I want. Just a bit hesitant as it seems to be built for low recoiling semi-autos. Anyone have experience with them on larger calibers?

Be brave, and a test dummy for the rest of us. Leupold will fix it.

I have a Mark 2 on my Montana .300 WSM and a Mark AR on my Montana .308. No problems as of yet. Great scopes for the money, IMO.

I've beat the piss outta a bunch of Mark ARs.... though they're all the older 1/2 MOA click models. One sat atop a Sendero 7 Remmy for about 400 rounds, and held strong.... now it's on to smaller and better things.... like a 1-8" .223....

I have one of the new Mod1 Firedots in 3-9x waiting for a rig to ride..... maybe the Tikka CTR. I put a zero stop in mine, so as to better avoid Murphy.

It's a Leupold.

Nuff said.

Zero stop was actually pretty easy, as it's all set-up for one.... you just gotta be a bit creative.

Mark ARs are the same as the CDS underneath.... So there is post for the stop on the scope, and an indention in the bottom of the cap to accept a 1/16" bearing. Here's where you need to be creative, as the indention is intentionally mid-located by Leupold so folks don't just install it themselves, and cheat Leupold outta $75

I simply took a small mill bit in the Dremel and extended that hole clockwise slightly so a small dab of JB Steel putty could adhere to the scuffed aluminum of the cap. I used a small bit of turtle wax on the scope as a release agent, then slipped the cap back over the post and turned it back to zero, GENTLY.

Pull the cap off, trim an excess putty from the race where the stop sits.... and allow to dry. It looks like this when its done. It cost my two clicks off the top, so I have 5.8 MILs total travel.... which is right at 900 with the .260.
