I was browsing the Tikka.FI website and noticed all the calibers they list for the T3 Stainless Varmint. Can you really buy a Tikka T3 Stainless Varmint in 30-06 or 9.3x62 right off the shelf over there?

A serious student of the "Armchair Safari" always looking for Africa/Asia hunting books

30 years ago, I regularly traveled to Sweden and Finland on business and (in my down-time) seek out gun shops. Yes, at that time, you could buy rifles (pistols were harder to buy); hunting is a big-time activity in both countries.

Tikka has lot of calibres and models for sale here that they don't even try to market in Canada or the USA. John

The cartridge itself doesn't make me think long-range accuracy, and I can't picture someone wanting to lug it around the woods with them either.

Tackdriver,
Perhaps I should have written something more along the lines of "The 9.3x62 T3 Stainless Varmint is readily available here in Sweden"
The lighter models are more commonly seen.
In Sweden, the 9.3x62 is quite a common choice among hunters today so Tikka chambers for this cartridge in almost every rifle available here -- including some heavy models.

My Aunt moved to Gotenburg (spelling?) Sweden and my wife's family hails from northern Finland. I would love to go to Finland some day and go on an Elk (moose) hunt. I know hunting and fishing are a big deal over there and when my mom visited Sweden she remarked about the fish markets and all the fresh fish. Where I grew up it was known for having 95% of all the Finnish immigrant population. Hell, the street signs were in English and Finn. At any rate I know the Finns love to hunt and have a penchant for well built, no nonsense firearms. I ran into quite a few that were outstanding machinists and knew chit when it came to engineering.
