Every gun has a buyer. At what price point is the question... and it can sometimes be very puzzling.

..."And there's an ass for every seat." That thing fetched about $700 more than I would've paid for it.

It would have been a natural for Savage to chamber one in the Zipper, or even the Zipper improved, after the HP went by the wayside. I'm guessing about that time all things went bolt gun in the US.

We could all build our own for that price..and have real wood on it. My zipper, oddly, has the same forearm and caliber stamp. I wonder if someone was cranking them out a generation ago?

The HP is by the wayside? Huh.
Just a gnat's worth of difference between a Zipper and the HP. Better bullet selection would be a driving factor to go with the Zipper though.
People without a sense of aesthetics shouldn't be allowed to do gun work. This guy may just have been simply drunk when he made that stock, or tripping on peyote.
I bet he was stumped by the old "how do I make a straight lever work with a pistol grip" rhubarb. "Never mind Bunkie, I can make it work."

That's not very pretty eh.
Would love a 219 zipper on the 99 action, would even settle for a nice Marlin 336

It's a sickness. I came into about 400 rounds of 9mm and now I'm looking at cheap Norinco's just to go use them all up and then sell the gun when I'm out, haha.

Johno, you want a Marlin in Zipper? Here's one for you. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=458871100I had a beauty a few years back and foolishly sold it. One of my many screw-ups during my lifetime. yooper

As the topic said...2 guys wanted it. If you are the buyer, don't feel too bad at all the ribbing. Somebody else wanted it to....probably reading this now (maybe secretly happy they are not getting outed).
It kinda reminds me of the Island of Misfit Toys.
