Are there any significant differences between the 165/168 gr. BT's? Such as jacket thickness, construction etc?
Appreciate any info.

It seems to me that I've seen posted here from those in the know that the 168 is heavier in the jacket.
I love that bullet; its my go-to in the 06 over RS-Hunter as my one load for all big game. It's performed wonderfully both on paper and terminally.

168 is sleeker and has a higher BC as I recall.

I seem to recall that both the 165 and 168 now have the heavier jacket, but you might want to check with Nosler.

168 is bomb proof, my sister put one through both shoulders of a large cow moose at 30 yards out of an 06.

168 gr NBT, 61.5 gr Hunter, Win LRM, Win Nickel Cases I'm pretty sure I'm somewhere around 2925 fps based upon experiementation w/ this rifle and similar combinations but I haven't had a chance to chrono this exact load yet. Sure is flat shooting and as the poster above said, dang near bomb proof; I love it!

From Jan '11. Yes, I did ask specifically about construction and received a reply finally today. According to Nosler, and I quote "The 165 and 168 gr. .308" ballistic tips have the same jacket construction and thickness. The ogive has been slightly changed on the 168 gr. to make up the 3 gr. difference in lead, but the jacket construction is the same." From the horse's mouth. Gotta get some 168s.

Here's the new... Oops, got the pics mixed-up. Really a nice set of teeth... Second from right is supposed to be the 168 then the 180. Second from left is supposed to be the old 168.

Here's a much less interesting pic, apparently showing the old 165.
