Nothing in the letter about that, it was accepted April 16, 1903 and delivered to H&D Folsom Arms Co, NYC on the 17th.
Kinda neat that JC said "delivered" instead of the regular "shipped" seeing as how it stayed in New York.
40th gun off the line and over 150,000 of them made.

My 308 F is numbered 592592, LBC says we were both made the same year 1957.

No way a .308 F is going to have that SN. The year is OK but the SN would have to start with a 9.
Take another look.

I was going through my 99s recently, and saw that I had two rifles, acquired years apart, with serial numbers only 9 different. The C194669 is a 358 Brush Gun, and the C194678 is a 308 CD. Possibly made the same day. Weird coincidence.
