I called Winchester in October about 284 brass and the guy said they MIGHT do a run of 284 brass in 2015. I asked why he said because of the high demand of standard calibers. Update for ally'all (how bout some Southern lingo?) In the last few days I've been to every reloading and ammo outlet in/around Hot Springs. No 284 nothing, period, nada! This AM I hit Bass Pro, Gander Mtn, and Fort Thompson in L. R. and NLR, Ar. NOBODY has ANY 284 ammo or 284 brass, nada redux! I found 2 surprises per reloading components in general. 1 Pak Plaza in H S is a pawn, gun shop w/a gunsmith. I'm not even acquainted with him yet. However they HAVE a GOOD inventory of powders, IMR, Hodgdon, WW, Alliant, AND the Reloader series. Shocked me! that's a new development for them since the PANIC set in. They also had a larger inventory of bullets than before. 2. Ft Thompson has a good inventory of Powders, Primers, & bullets. But they told me that brass was non existant at present. Don't WASTE your time at Gander Mtn. When it comes to reloading components. I post this for the benefit of anyone reasonably close to H S or L R Ar. I'm in good shape for reloading except for 284 brass. EdM - I will be in touch about Christmas. Thnx again.

I've just pieced a collection of brass together as I've been able. Surely by now supplies are loosening up?? No Supply,, But some Just listed On G.B. and Midway had a special Last week, grabbed the last 100 they had
Can we move this along?" a bored voice stated. "I have places to be and people to shag."

I couldn"t find any, getting desparate I had a vague recollection I'd bought some years age and put in my retired reloading bench in my basement. A search found 14 boxes of fresh unprimed brass! Eureka ! Along with 132 I have loaded on hand, and some fired boxes I found in my ammo locker, I have about 500 ,nearly 300 unfired pristene brass. That should carry me out my trail. I'd hate to have to buy 6.5X284 to neck size up, odd head stamp and expensive ! Good luck to all you fellows who enjoy our .284 !

I finally procured a bag of 50 from a member here. Actually there were 51 in the bag and NONE of them were creased or dented.
I'm still looking for @ 100 more.

Thanks but I'm looking for 7X284 or 284X284 That's almost square ? I have seen 6.5X284 brass available and I know that's an option but I'd prefer OEM and I have 50+ brass so I can wait a little while. Thanks Again.

This is Sat and I went to a 'decent' gun show in downtown H S this AM. I saw a fair variety of rifles/makers/cals or cartridges. Even a Mauser 93 in 7X57. It was in decent shape and I left it layin where it was.
There was a pretty good supply of Powders and Primers but brass in general was skimpy.
There was NO, NADA,ZIP,ZERO 284 W brass or loaded ammo AT ALL. I couldn't even steal what wasn't there!!
Best deal (IMO) I saw was a Tikka T 3 Lite SS in 300 WSM --$575.00 Yes it was used but like new condition. YES! I thot about it but left it as well.
Since I was focused on 284 brass, I didn't look close at all guns, rifles-handguns, and none at shotguns.
I came AWFUL close to buying a 380 semi auto pocket gun but finally kicked myself out the door before I did.
HELP! S O S !! Anyone willing to part with 100 284 Win brass???
