Noooooo, Fireball is just leading the self-righteous cause. It's unfortunate that 'they' found a front man with a prime number under 100 IQ.

In my early days many on the fire with the highest post counts had a significant amount of hunting experience, not just a couple kinds of deer and maybe a bear hunt now and then. I really enjoyed their experience and learned a lot.
That is certainly not the case anymore.

Well I'll tell you this much, what chaps my ass is that some play right into exactly what liberals stereotype us as. If the liberals ever caught on to this forum, they would be able to spread it everywhere as proof positive of what a bunch a racists hunters we all are.
The banter and the insults I can take, but all the [bleep], ape, porch monkey references play right into the liberal handbook.
Self righteous? No, not really, just an understanding that perception can change minds, and the perception this forum sometimes puts forth, puts all of us in a negative light.
Now some will pound their chests and proclaim "I don't give a [bleep] what the liberals think", well ok, but they are out there recruiting young minds with the goal of taking hunting rights away, and I have never saw the point in giving them more ammo to portray us in their bigotry and define who and what we are.

That is correct. And it is unfortunate. In the early days, half of the stuff that is currently posted here would not be posted. The half that would be left...would be worth reading.

Nothing changes until Rick Bin says it changes. Well Rick likes a hands off approach, but sometimes I wonder if he is fully aware of everything that gets time on his own site and what is could possibly mean for future advertisement? He has himself a hell of a successful site, so I give him the benefit of the doubt, that maybe it is me who is bothered by the racist stuff more than I should be, who knows?

Rick used to have different moderators for individual forum lists. They were able to stay on top of things. I see little moderation these days. The better information I get is from the PM feature. Everyone I have contacted has been very helpful.

Maybe change the name from '24 hour Campfire' to '223 AI'.
With thousands of posts, and millions of views, in Miscellaneous, this thread proves the becalming value of puzzy, interjected into otherwise inflammatory topics regarding firearms and hunting.

Nothing changes until Rick Bin says it changes. Lol There just enough(barely) of a maturity level here that the way Rick runs it, it works IMO. Lots of great people here. Over moderation sucks.

Well, the nation has become some what ruder in recent years, so it reflects even here on our little corner of the world wide web!

I never was one of those who had prolonged exchanges with Stick, but I never understood why some people felt obligated to engage in pissin' matches with him.
His internet "thing" is to just be over the top. It was obvious that he was just having a good time while stirring people up. And also,...it's fairly evident that he lives a life that walks the walk.
We picked back and forth at each other a time or two,...and it was clear (to me, anyway) that both of us were just sitting around,..pecking the keys, and having a good laugh.
I think he's probably a genuine character,...somebody that would be fun to witness while gathered in a group of people around a hunting camp.
I don't know why he gets some people so worked up.

That is certainly not the case anymore. Not here since "the early days" but some of the guys with high post counts and only been registered a few years seem to be the biggest blowhards here!!

"Fools run where angels fear to tread" Simply ignore and stop answering any post that you don't want to be involved in. Trolls and jerks shrivel up without an audience.
"Eat the chicken; leave the bones" It is quite easy to simply scan right past the drivel and go for the good stuff. Learn to read appropriate to the medium in which one is engaging.
