Apparently I posted this in the wrong forum yesterday, so I'll move it here.

My chronograph needed a new mode off transportation to and from the range so I set out to find a good alternative to the CED millennium 2 carry bag. While shopping at the local Walmart I discovered this hard shell rifle case. It's made by Plano and it's a lot like the pelican case I have for my camera equipment so I thought I would give it a try.

After configuring it the way I wanted, I think it turned out rather well. I was able to double stack the regular sky screen and the infrared sky screen by first laying the first infrared screen down first, then two regular screens, then the last infrared sky screen.

Now I have what I feel is the best alternative carry case for my chronny. What do you think?

I think it's a great idea.

I can now put it in the truck and know its protected. Plus putting it away after shooting is simple. Works good to keep it protected yet organized.

Great idea and a great way to protect and store delicate instrumentation!

In some areas guns will rust in those cases. Is that an issue for chrono's.
