While mine is still under construction here in Texas, I would vote for the .300 Jarrett.

Have had a brace of 30-8mm mags. Great cartridge.

That being said, the 24" 300WSM is the way I'd fly.....................

i can see the logic of the wsm, and given the budget to play around and make it into the rifle i wanted, i'd do it...

got an old push feed winnie put back..... looks like hell... been there, or close..... weaver T10 on top...

i got too many rifles today, and just about any one of them would serve for the rest of my days....

if i got to choose, give me a .308.....

Love my 300H&H, but my go to gun is a stainless Model 7 in 300SAUM. And for fun a 30-40 Krag, gotta love that slick Krag action.

What about the .30 Rem, and .30 Carbine. No love?

But seriously, If forced to choose, I'd go .308 or .30-06. I figure they'll be around awhile.

either the 300 win or better yet the 300 weatherby
anything less and your not taking full advantage of the 30 cal, anything larger and your burning a good deal more powder but gaining velocity at a noticably slower rate (efficiency falls off rapidly past the 300 wby case)

'Stick,
Just got back on the 'puter since my last post.
Yep, the LTR is a fun shootin SOB! It's just a "fun gun" for me. Got to reading about snipers, and had to have a "sniper rifle"
Havn't shot this one past 100 yds. but, it'll put 5, 168 Sierras into 5/8" at that distance. Gotta get it out to longer ranges and see what it will do.
Have a 4.5X14-50mm Loupie, with dot reticle mounted on it. With the 3" sunshade on the 50mm AO, it LOOKS like a sniper rifle!
