Hi guys, I have just recently purchased a Husqvarna 98 in .243 Winchester and need some help identifying the year of manufacture The serial number of the rifle is 274466. My guess is that it was made sometime in the mid 60's?, as I know that Husqvarna changed their action type late 60's / early 70's Any help appreciated, note I live in Australia

Husqvarna stopped using the FN 98 action in 1953. The improved Mauser action 1600 was produced for about 10 or 12 years, then the 1900 action came out. From your serial # I'm guessing it is a 1600 lightweight made 1959 or 1960.
Shew me thy ways, O LORD: teach me thy paths. "there are few better cartridges on Earth than the 7 x 57mm Mauser" "the .30 Springfield is light, accurate, penetrating, and has surprising stopping power"
