A guy has a Deutsch Werke 6.35mm pistol he wants to sell - cheap. Any other day I would say I don't need a 25ACP, but when my 2nd cousin died and my uncle gave me all his stuff, there was a bunch of 25acp ammo in there that I have sitting. Talk me into or out of it.... What's retail on these things in about 80% condition.

I just re-read my own post, and yes, it sure sounds like I would buy a gun to use on-hand ammo - as opposed to selling off ammo I had no gun for. Is that bat-schit crazy or what?

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. I've got a bunch of crap ammo and so I need to buy a crap pistol to shoot my crap ammo.

I'll bring you some 64 octane gas if you want a reason to go buy a Pinto.

The local reloading store has a box of 35gr .251 Speer Gold Dots. I've been tempted to buy them, just to see the look on the store owner's face.
It might be fun trying to find the best powder charge between 1.1 and 1.2 grains

I heard those gold dots will stop a charging chipmunk dead in its tracks.

Actually, your logic makes perfect sense to me. I have picked up a few pieces of brass off the ground, and then decided I needed a new gun to go with them.

The difference is that a .280 and .284 are actually worth owning and shooting. You're planning on buying a new 4x4 with mud grips and a yeti cooler in the bed. RWE is shopping for a 1979 Datsun with "Ain't Skeered" on the back window in mailbox letters.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=460170899 with that long(er) barrel & sight radius though, it should really stretch the abilities of the cartridge...compared to say, a Colt Vest Pocket or a baby Browning.

Once I shoot off the factory ammo, I'll set to modifying the platform. I'm seeing a new cartridge, along the lines of the 357 sig - a 25ACP necked down to 17. I'm going to call it the 25Bluedreaux, and it will be uber.
