Here's what the 1910 Winchester catalog says about the 1901. (Page 107) "Unless otherwise specified guns with 32 inch full choked barrels will be sent on all orders;but shorter barrels ,or barrels with different styles of bore either modified choke or full cylinder will be furnished if so ordered without extra charge."
So yes it is possible. Options available were 3 blade Damascus steel for an addition 15.00 and 4 blade for 20.00. Checkered stocks were an addition 5.00 option and a Silvers recoil pad was 7.00.
The shotgun itself sold for 30.00 back in 1910.

You only see 32 and 20 though. You'd think if they'd turned out any amount of diff lengths You'd read about one or two

Does it have a choke? If it's true cylinder bore then it's most likely been cut. Still a neet gun though. Love the way they marked the receiver

Ya I wish I could get it in my hands. The guy who has it lives a fair piece away and wouldn't even know a gun goes bang

I guess I would assume it's been cut then and buy accordingly. If he's selling and pricing it as original I would insist on an inspection period with return rights if not. It's possible it's original, but not probable.

On the picture I've seen the choke is marked on the left side of the barrel just ahead of the receiver. Maybe the guy can measure it for you. If the barrel is marked "full" it should measure .744", modified .759", IC .769". If it measures .779" no choke is present.
