If you had an accumark MKV what would you choose to mount it with? What make and power scope?
TIA

Since I like good glass and Nightforce is the best I have looked through I would go with a 5.5-22X56.

Never used a Vortex. Second pick would've been a Zeiss.

Hopefully it will be ok. The rifle has 30-06 equivalent recoil with its weight and accubrake.

Well Fotis, good luck with the Vortex. Also for the price it should be better than "ok."

Let me know how many rounds you run through before you get to check out the awesome Vortex warranty first hand....

Let me know how many rounds you run through before you get to check out the awesome Vortex warranty first hand.... Mine worked awesome until I had to turn the turrets to get it on paper. Somebitch was turning on the outside on the horizontal but not the inside. Unfortunate for Vortex as it was my first and last scope Shod

First Vortex I TRIED to run long range lost 1.25" between 200-600 yds.
That's okay though. Most Vortex buyers wouldn't know the difference anyway..........

Hopefully it will be ok. The rifle has 30-06 equivalent recoil with its weight and accubrake. The 30-378 will rattle apart a scope in no time flat. I dont think you'll get over 100 rounds out of that Vortex,IF that many. You asked our opinions on the vortex earlier, you didnt listen..Best of luck with it.

Expect that scope to last around 200 rounds before catastrophic failure. They do not react well with big boomers and brakes.
I wish you all the best but that was quite possibly the worst choice for a braked 30-378.

I'm just not so sure it will happen. But it may. It seems alot of vortex owners have had to sample the warranty. And that a lot have put their scopes for sale. Like I said, mine didn't track worth beans. I hope yours does....

Roscoe I have had this one for over a year so it was on hand not a recent purchase. I also have a new in box Zeiss HD5 3x15x42 with target turrets. Will this one do?

TIA If it were mine, I'd use either Talley steel mounts or Conetrols with a one piece base & a SWFA HD scope, either 3x9 or 3x15. If you want to spend more money, then a NF. I don't have any knowledge of Vortex optics. MM

Crap... I was hoping to see reports of the Vortex and HD5 after riding the 30-378 That rifle would make a great test mule. I had a SS 3-15x for awhile, but didn't beat on it. I was told by some knowledgeable folks that its a tougher scope than their 3-9x. Just be careful if you "re-cal" the SF. If the cap comes off, you'll see the guts. Don't ask

The only Zeiss I have much experience with has been a V/MV,that I didnt dial in with.. Wish I could give a report on that SWFA 3-15,but I dont own that particular scope, but i think its a far better choice than the Vortex.
