Hunthard, you are saying this is "all original". Do you know if the recoil pad was factory installed? Most 300 H&H's of that vintage had the steel butt plates. However, they could be special ordered with a recoil pad, as there were 4 different options back in '52. Very nice looking 300 H&H there...

Its all original Lop is correct and pad looks to be vintage. To the best of my knowledge yes I would say this is correct certainty is quite high. A steel butt plate on a H&H well you would want to eat your wheaties.;)
