There are many "Johnny-Come-Lately" guns that seem to have been designed solely to compete for the title, but the Ruger #3 was around before ugly became in vogue.

RichardAustin: The "ugliest production gun" ever produced is anything made by savage in the last 30 years!
Although Remington and Marlin on occassion have given the savages a run for their "ugly" money!

Believe it or not those did have some demand. I knew a guy several years ago that was thrilled to get one. I'm thinking everyone that wanted one now has it and no longer needs to be made. And it didn't take very long.

Hey: I resemble that remark. having shot a vinci thousand rounds before cleaning, they are a workhorse. course their safety is inverted, and their looks make a pig proud. but they are a duck killing wonder. the ducks die of fright on sight.

This gets my vote. Is this thing still in production?

On the other hand, if I decide to make a zombie Western movie where the hero is a meth head, this would be the perfect rifle for it.

I've always thought that the H&R Handi Rifle was pretty unattractive.

And you gotta' include the M-4 Survival Rifle as a candidate.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Ugliest non production - Seen some yellow, pink & Aqua purple Mcswirlys on 24hr you'd think Liberace picked'em out.

That gets my vote and I am much more in to functions than looks. I can't imagine that not being painful to handle.

Yep, I agree. I've owned several Savages and they were very accurate, but just plain ugly. With the bolt handle at the rear of the bolt, behind the receiver, they just look ugly. For a specialized rifle (e.g., F Class target or varmint shooting), I'd buy one, but as for having any pride in it, I'd pass. Just my opinion.
