Doug; Have any numbers on calibers? Doug Doug on the 9 i have seen up close 4 were 308's, (1) 243 and 4 300 correction ( 284 win)Savage's. I would of thought that the 308 and 243 Would Be More of than in Savage Caliber by then.

Stever, Did they make PE's and DE's in 300 Sav? I had only heard of 243, 308 and 284. I had a 243 PE, a 284 PE and a 284 DE at Savage Fest. Figured you saw them. David

This is a good way to start off the new year...numbers on the PE's and DE's plus finding a pair of "light" lettered 1895's. Thanks Doug for the numbers.

Thanks Doug, that is good info. I had wondered how many of each they produced. Haven't seen as many DE's as PE's for sale lately and thought they may have made more PE's.

See more PEs than DEs for sure... also glad to hear someone else say they think there are fewer 243 then 284 as I made that argument a while back and many disagreed.
Frankly, I am surprised that there were less than 500 PEs made... assume this includes the "sales award" guns that were blued. If so, we have seen a very good number of them. Heck, I'd bet we could account for 10% no problem just here on the forum. I've owned 2 and have a box for a third (which I would be happy to provide to the owner of the gun for what I have in it).

99 PE DE 110PE 110PE LEFT HAND 1965 24 25 59 17 1966 100 99 79 9 1967 122 73 147 59 1968 207 216 92 22 1969 33 97 41 2
---------------------------------------- 489 508 418 109 Worth noting that the math is off a little for the sums of PEs and DEs... totals should be 486 and 510. Not much of a difference but you know how finicky those 99 collectors can be!!
