See Judeo-Christian societies when through the the reformation and the enlightenment and came out of it with things like freedom of religion, freedom of speech, declaration of the rights om man, etc.
Islam seems to be going through it's own reformation and it's coming up with things like Al Qaeda, IS, justification for killing anyone who offends them, and subjugation of everyone else. Those were actually ancient Celtic philosophy ideas although I'm sure there is some Germanic and Norse thrown. If Christianity had anything to do with it it was Celtic Christianity, a blend of Druidism and Christianity.

I agree that everyone should really look at our support for Israel with an open mind- rather than predetermined opinion. There is a lot more to it than the simple chosen people mindset that can be eye opening. I am however convinced that non-support of them should not equate to support for countries wanting to destroy them.
