Dave writes some of the better Western American Folk Music ( AKA "Cowboy Poetry") that's goin' down these days.

I've seen Dave Stamey perform in person several times. Once at the Black Forest Community Center and several times at the Wet Mountains Blue Grass Festival. Last summer he got together with Sons & Brothers for a unique performance that combined cowboy poetry with blue grass music. That was a fun experience.

Wind in my hair, Sun on my face, I gazed at the wide open spaces, And I was at home.
My tablet wouldn't let me watch the video for some reason, but I'm very familiar with the song. He has a lot of good ones and I listen to about four of his CDs. He is way better than the "country" music (I almost vommit when I have to call modern country music "country") of today. "Tonopah", "Montana", "Sweetgrass County Line" and "The Skies of Lincloln County" are some of my favorites.
I have met Dave several times. He not only is a great singer and story teller, but also a fine gentleman. A friend of mine met him while working for an outfitter in the high Sierra. Dave was working as a packer, took his guitar with him and entertained the dudes at the campfire, it started from there. I am a custom saddle maker and play his CD's while I am working in my shop, lol I have them all. He is damn sure easy to listen too. Ed
