there were lots of fine firearms in attendance. I don't know who this Sauer belongs to, but they left it in a fine spot for a photo... grin

It would have been nice to see more pigs, but a fine time was had by all. Really great seeing everyone again!

I heard six pigs was the total. Don't know if anyone went out today, even though it was the last hunting day. Last night they got a couple trucks stuck. I only had one opportunity, and missed him blush

They are just returning from a hunt. The SxS is Gunner's. Dan just advised that he could have thumped a nice eland...

Makes sense. He is pretty good looking, DVD is. Wait, you said THUMPED. Never mind. wink

I am praying to the Almighty Overseer of All Blessed Drunken Acts of Magical and Eternal Greatness that someone choked out, or at least knuckled up, squared off with and boxed with the ostrich during the trip. Such a brilliant opportunity for immortality, that. An epic bout stemming from blackout caliber drunks and the offer/wager/acceptance deal of a dare? The man who would be king stuff. Oh, the image... FUGG YEAH! whistle cool

Get home safe, y'all. Looking forward to pics and recollections.

I'm a low life for not having a video of that, but I don't. I've got it in my head with the one of his first deer though, and I cherish them both.

I do regret not capping the three little piglets that were with the sow he shot. They'd have gone good in a crock pot, I think. Or maybe baked like cornish game pigs....

That would have been Rockchucker, had he shown up this year.

Possibly. Judging the wind was the problem, however. I held off them too much. The bullet strike we found in the dirt suggested it went where I aimed it.

We were warned the ostrich could be a mean fugger, and in fact he chased a couple people at different times. I heard they are eventually going to dispatch him, with prejudice.

Final tally was 7 pigs killed 4 missed
Others saw pigs but no shots
Everyone who attended was great and I just want to thank you all for attending and making this a great time!
The ranch manager was impressed with our group and said we where one if his best ever.
Unfortunately I have to sit in San Antonio airport for3 more hours before my journey begins.... But it's better than the long drive many members have to endure

Thanks again, Dan, for getting on the stick and putting this together for us. Lawson and I made it home about 14:30 yesterday. I ended up in the rack about 18:00 and slept like a rock.

Hope your lay over passes fast and your flight uneventful.

By the way, we stopped at 2 different Buc ee's, on the way through Texas. What a place! Pickled Quail eggs, grills, yeti coolers and bar b que sammiches. Not to mention the illustrious beaver nuggets.

Just arrived home. Road was mess getting out. Wonder who got stuck.
Had a great time Dan. Met many members who I had seen on the board. Great guys.
Had some fine weapons to look at.
One thing we do have is many avid shotgunners it seems. Some really good shots. Found out my Model 11 Rem will shoot straight and hit the target by several different members.
Bet the group fired at least 1,000 rounds.
Didn't see a hog while hunting.
Saw many African type animals, many dove, lots of ducks, lots of Duck. They like corn it seems.
Have pics. but can't post them. So I get to look at them and see if any good ones came out.

Did stop at a Buc-ee's on the way home on I-35. Had at least 100 pumps. Half of the being used. Went inside and got some Beaver Nuggets and a taco to eat on the way home. Interesting place. Store had to be at lease 20,000 or more SQ FT.

Buc-ees does actually have pretty good BBQ and a huge variety of snacks, FWIW. And proper Davy Crockett t-shirts, too. smile
