Who makes a trigger for the M77 Hawkeye?? I have the Predator model and the two stage trigger leaves a little to be desired.

Huntsman, you have a VT/Target model as well with a 2 stage trigger. Did you replace that one with a Rifle basix or Timney?? I don't care for the 2 stage trigger either..

Unlike OP and you, I really like the Ruger two-stage.......haven't had cause to swap it out.

I guess I should rephrase that. I don't mind the 2 stage trigger, it's adjusted pretty damn good right now. That in itself can be kind of tricky. However, all of my hunting rifles have single stage triggers and that's what I prefer, not that's there's anything wrong with the 2 stage. It's just different. Maybe the OP is in the same boat???... Funny thing is, lately I've been eyeballing the Hawkeye predator. It is kind of a rendition of how you set up your VT/Target rifle in a sporter stock. However, these have the nice green/brown laminated stocks...

I have a 0.75 ounce two stage on an Anschutz. I wish they would make same for every other rifle that's in the house. I have several set units too, but much prefer the two-stage.

I'm wondering if it may be an adjustment problem? I ran into this same thing with my VT/Target when I first got it. I ran into these instructions on how to adjust it and it's been working great ever since:

http://www.varminthunters.com/tech/rugervt.html

However, like I said before, I actually prefer a single stage trigger set to about 2.5 pounds on my hunting rifles. Like huntsman said, if you use it enough, you get used to it and I've noticed that as well. For me I think it's just a matter of getting used to it. I don't know if the OP feels this way or if his trigger may just need to be fine tuned with a little adjustment. I'd look over these instructions and try adjusting it and see if it makes a difference...

Ditto that. Love the VT trigger on my heavy barrel .22-250.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.

BSA I'm like you and have all my hunting rifles set for around 2 1/2 pounds on the trigger. All my AR's however have 2 stage triggers and the first couple shots after shooting a single stage for awhile feel weird. I think it's just mental after a couple shots I'm in the groove again with the 2 stage.
