All,
I recently purchased a used stainless encore frame. It has some areas with black staining...maybe black powder fouling, but not sure. It is not regular fowling that can be remove with solvent and a brush. Is there a cleaning product for SS that you can recommend that will clean this up? If it matters, this is an older, non-prohunter frame.
Thanks!

Slip2000 Carbon Killer. Soak the part for an hour and give it a light scrub with a nylon brush. Nothing I've found works faster or better. I have used it to remove ALL the carbon from revolver cylinders and frames.

That might be the remnants of rust. I have a SS Super Blackhawk that the ejector rod got some rust on it from being in a case with a sweaty shooting glove. After carding off the rust, I'm left with black/grey freckles. They will need to be stoned/polished out. No cleaner is going to help on mine. Post a pic and we might be able be more help.
Butch, do you have a source for TEC? I thought that has been out of production for a while.

Have you tried clorinated brake cleaner......there isn't much the stuff won't break down. If it is too tough, nothing stands up to the blast cabinet.
I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.
