you can never go wrong within the RL15, AR Comp, IMR 4895, IMR 4320, Varget, W 748 burn ranges...
Been Playing with TAC, based on JB's reports on it...its also doing a great job...though my experience with it is no where near what it is with the above powders...
if I had to choose just ONE... it would be AR Comp...

I've seen some pretty impressive velocity using H335 in .223 with 75's and a 24" bbl. Varget will shoot groups like Ackleyfan, but nowheres near as fast.

I tried them in my 5.56 and to fit the magazine they had to be seated so deep there was a gap between the case mouth and the bullet ogive. They work well if you load them long and shoot singly though.

Kinda surprised how slow that 25.1 gr is. I was bumping 3,000 at 25gr.

thanks 16 bore.
Pretty crazy the different maxes from book to book. Different chambers, etc, etc.
I havn't tried 335, figured it was faster than optimum for the 75s.
I think I will load some up and some benchmark too out of curiosity.
I have always liked h335's speeds and accuracy but it acts wonky with really cold or hot weather for me and it burns dirty as shicht compared to others. But if thats what shoots, I will deal with it

I've only ever used 335 and tried Varget a few times. Not sure what will work in the Tikka I'm messing with. Don't care either, as long as I get the groups I want and an ample supply.

23.5 of H4895 is giving me great accuracy with the 75 Amax, 2.402" COAL. At 24 grains my primers were getting a bit cratered so I kept it at the 23.5 grn.
The Hodgdon site lists 24.5grn of H4895 as a max load, but I nnever got that far in my Ruger American.

I have a Ruger hawkeye 223rem with 1:9 twist. Will that stablize those 75gr Amax?

I have had them work in 2 different 1 in 9 guns but its marginal. It would be worth a try. If they stabilize they usually shoot well

For me (Tikka 1:8 twist) 24-25 Varget and 22 TAC shoots tiny groups.

Actually working up some 80 Amax with Varget to see WTF. Do you have 75's into the lands or jumping?

I want to give the 80s a go in my 22-250 and 223 AI.
I have tried kissing and jumping 30 thousandths. Accuracy hasn't changed much in my normal, which is a RAR.
My AI prefers them kissing the lands
I'd like to hear how the 80's act

My fast twist 22.250 and 223 both prefer the 80 A Max over the 75 AMax.... they also prefer the 75 BTHP Hornady over the 75 A Max...

Not the 75 amax but the 75 bthp is whoopin my ass from my .223 with 1/9 twist. I'm getting 2 touching a 1 and where from 1" to 3" away.

If you can find any, AR Comp does some wonderful things in that case...with any of the 40 thru 80 grain bullets...

None of that around here. H4895, 4064, 4198 is about it for medium burners. I can get all the 4350 or 4831 I want but I don't think they would perk up too good.

Negative, I need to get me a run-out checkerizer.
My last 2 3 shot groups with the Sierra 55gr #1365 were .42 and .37.
I'm not up to snuff on run-out, will say the 75gr Hornady have/create more run-out than say the 55gr Sierra?
I've ran powder charges from 22.5grs - 24.5grs, Fed205 and CCI400, Privi Brass and Rem Brass and tried about 7 different seating depths and 2-1 seems to be the preferred pattern with this bullet.
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

If you take it from a statistics standpoint, what you see is 2 combinations of a possible 20, had they not been sorted.
