I drew a AZ Archery Elk tag for 5b North. I have hunted 5b South twice, but not North. Does anyone have any helpful info?

West of Marshall lake, the heads of Young and Mormon Canyons, Boot lake areas should be good. There was a fire a few years ago around Mormon Canyon, iirc. Travel on Anderson Mesa is rocky rough, and slippery gumbo if wet.

Sunset peak or Mountain and the edge of the buffalo ranch. We found a number of elk within 200 yds of the north fence of the ranch.
We eventually killed our elk elsewhere but we were relegated to a sub-unit (twin arrow or Two -guns) and couldn't go up on the Mesa.
We saw tons of elk on sunset mountain. Mostly private property I think, but it wasn't posted- just locked gates so you are afoot.

Try south of Anderson Mesa east of the road through Metzger's Flying M ranch. Between the ranch and Diablo Canyon. Look for a few roads that go east from the main road. Look closely for tanks along the west rim of the canyon. There are about 4 of them.
