bought a savage axis 25-06 sighted it in on Thursday. was surprised on how accourate this rifle is for the money. I didn't
think I would get 1 inch groups at 100yrds. right out of the
box.

I don't like the ergs of the stock, preferring a pistol grip with tighter radius geometry, but the Axis rifles that I have shot have been pretty good shooters. Maybe not quite as good as the average Marlin X gun, but now that Marlin has discontinued the X guns, they won't be an option for much longer.

Not a fan of the ergs, as 260 stated, don't care for the barrel nut. cheap feeling stocks, but dang those puppies can shoot!
