i have a 1951 marlin 336 in beautiful condtion.I have had for 10 yrs finally shot this year to site in as back up deer rifle and did not shoot acceptible.Idon't expect ragged hole which i get from 444 at 100 yards but a 3-4 inch group i can't handle.
So i could sell and not sleep at night for passing problem off.unless found someone willing to deal with it.
Or maybe rechamber to another caliber if so which one??? I thought about 444 to throw heavy cast being my other is micro grove 1-38 twist. But hate take away from other 444 that i've harvested alot of deer with.
so what is your thoughts???

Sell it to someone who doesn't mind 3" groups at 100 yards?
Try a different brand of ammo? My 336SC in 32 WS shoots the Hornady LeverEvolution 165 grain better than any of the 170 grain factory loads from Fed/Rem/Win.
Pull the barrel and install a 30-30 barrel?

so what is your thoughts??? I once had a 32 spcl with a sloppy bore, I used 323 diameter RN bullets designed for the 8x57, with the slightly bigger diameter it kept the bullets from keyholing and brought back the accuracy.

is that with a scope or irons? if irons, i'd say its good.
could be you too. contrary to what everyone says about the old marlins, i find their trigger to be kind of hard to shoot accurately without practice.

If there's no sentimental value and it truly is in beautiful condition leave it original and sell it. Use the proceeds to buy something in a different caliber. It will probably be more cost effective too. That's my two cents worth. Thanks; Mike

IF you decided to sell it, and haven't sold it yet, send me a PM with the price and specs(and pictures if you can)as I might be interested.
