You could machine some wicked-cool custom toothbrush handles. The first guy on yours street to have 'em............... grin

I got a Krieger unused barrel, chambered in 300WM, threaded, and with a black finish for $103 on Ebay... Someone put $450 into it and gave up.. it has 1/2-24 threads on the muzzle.

No brakes have that thread. They are all 1/2-28 or 5/8-24

Possibly done by some machinist or back room gunsmith with no idea what threads are standard. Just have it cut back and re-threaded, shouldn't cost too much with a decent smith.

I can't tell if the original post was a serious question or not. Sure looks like somebody was halfway through with making some muzzle brakes.

This company is really a mess. Since I'm the one working in there I figure I will finish them as muzzle brakes.

I did, and the thing on the end of the barrel looks like it was made by the team of Fred Flintstone and Homer Simpson.

If I had not hit my house with a tree in 2014, I would have completed that Mosin Nagant rifle and hunted with it in 2014. I have designed pillars for it and bedded them with pre compression. The front pillar looks like a toilet.
It should make a great hunting rifle in 2015.
