Should I buy another PP or apply this year? Any good areas where 4 preference points will draw a tag?
Thanks,
Dan

Numbers are in an extreme low causing "point inflating" so the experience you get w/ 4 pts now is a fraction of what you could get if you wait.
I'm practicing what I preach; I have 5 PPs and am doing a doe hunt this year.

Every year is the right year to burn WY pronghorn points. Seriously, there's not much advantage to trying to build points from what I've seen.

I elk hunted in antelope area 32 last year, places where I've seen hundreds of antelope in the past. I hunted hard for 7 days covering a lot of territory and saw no antelope. I'm saving my points this year..

Would someone please explain the difference between 'special' draw, 'regular' draw and just collecting points?
Thanks.

special draw is roughly twice the price as the regular, two pools for the exact same tags..
Its an odds thing (might be more accurate to say its an WYOGA thing), sometimes the odds are better if you pay more, sometimes not.
I like point collectors, means they apply for points only,no competition in the draw.
keep building those points guys :-)
There is truth to the herds being down in some area's. I hunted last year and numbers looked good, but trophy quality was poor compared to the last time I hunted the same unit..Drought I suspect..Lots of opinions but I think it will take a few good feed/winter years for quality to come back to some area's.

Numbers actually looked better last year in the area I hunted versus 2012 - I missed 2013. But I only saw 1 maybe 2 bucks that really looked big. The rest all where younger, so it might be better to hold off another year and see how things look then. So far the winter appears pretty mild in Wyoming, maybe numbers will continue to improve??

I don't plan on ever getting more than 1 or 2 points in Wyoming for pronghorn. Too fun to hunt and lots of units that can be drawn with 0-2 points have good bucks.

The quality is not good because they Wyo. Game and Fish Sell WAY too many buck tags in the units I have hunted here. I am rethinking my plan this year and gonna try to avoid the circus here. Ass shooting a bunch of 11" bucks may be fun for some , but I would like to have at least seen a 13" buck by the end of the season.

I plan on burning mine this year. Hope to bring home 2 does with the buck as well or even 4 if I can get lucky with leftovers...
