Hey guys... I have a 65 in 218 Bee. Trying to figure out whats original on it. The pistol grip stock does not have checkering on it. On the top of the stock, where the butt plate is, there is a notch, sorta like the 64. The butt plate does not match so either the stock or butt plate is wrong.

The forearm is checkered. Not sure if original since the pistol grip is not checkered.

The front site does not have the hood. The hood was original correct? I have 3 or 4 hoods and will re-attach. It does have the original peep site mounted on the bolt, though i believe there is a piece missing.

All in all, its a sweet rifle.... The SN is 1007091. Cant find info on the year other then the generic 1933-47 or something like that.

The fore end wood looks original but the buttstock is screaming replacement. It appears you have a Lyman bolt peep, a very desirable feature.

Thanks for the info. I figured one of them didnt belong. But i know for a fact this is how the rifle has looked for the last, 28 years or so. My grandfather was always tinkering with his firearms.

He also had a pre 64 model 70 in 220 Swift, per an insurance receipt we have dated 1959. Never knew what happened to that one .......:(
