Just picked this guy up recently. What's the value, roughly? Solid, shooter/Hunter condition only major blem is the crack repair. Original finish, original everything, sight hood included although not there in photos. Crack and repair, really really well done.

What southtexas said. I am far from being an expert in the value of Pre '64 rifles, but $650 seems low to me. More pictures would help those who would offer an opinion.

The bolt handle has been filled in as well. The bolt handles were drilled out after 1952. Does the serial number on the bolt match the receiver? If it does it just means someone had the void in the handle filled in. As far as worth? Hard to put a worth on pre 64. Usually the market sets the price. For me I would put it at around 800. Just my opinion though.

The handle is NOT filled in. It is drilled out, and matches.

The serial is 3557xx, so I guess it's actually a 1955.

Must be the flash in the pic LOL. No worries. I am glad they match. Hate to hear of mismatching numbers. You never know if they have been properly checked for headspace etc...

Right after I bought I looked for the serial number on the bolt and couldn't find it. Kind of floored out. I know the seller and he reassured me it was there. I looked really close and saw it. The rifle had been shot and hunted (like it should be), so it was difficult to see at first.
