I work and live within fifteen minutes of the farm show building and I have not been to this show (or any other ones for that matter)in over 10 years. Just not a big fan of the crowds and the stupid parking.

I lived within spitting distance of Harrisburg for a couple decades, and went to many gun shows and a bunch of Outdoor Shows at the Farm Show Arena. I quit going when the crowds burgeoned into great waves of glassy eyed acolytes stumbling past the exhibits and clogging the isles so as to make negotiating them a frustrating exercise. More power to those who persist against that overwhelming obstacle.

Have fun, bring back tote bags full of literature that'll be out at the curb on garbage day next week, and meet me at the bar afterward and I'll buy you a couple beers and smile politely while you regale me with tales of the Big Show. smile

Parking there really does suck. The shuttle bus going back and forth is a [bleep] option too.

Been there many times. Get there early and parking is never a problem.

The very first Outdoor Show I went to there was back around 1970, give or take. My dad and I were pawing through a shoebox full of old miscellaneous and odd ball cartridges (the Show was a lot different back then), when the booth owner looked over and said "Give me $5 and you can have the whole box." That pile of cartridges gave me hours of enjoyment in the sorting and identifying of same, and started me down the road of cartridge collecting. Pop bought a recurve cross bow, a pretty primitive one, that shot bolts about as fast as you could throw them.

So I am not the only that cant enjoy these things because of the crowds. I do not like bumping into and being bumped by hundreds of people. Plus you cant see and do the things you went there to do since you cant to them. The gun shows at the farm show were usually not so bad. Monoreville's Expomart shows were packed.

I go every year and can't remember not getting to see/handle/ talk to whomever/whatever I want. If i want to see someing i move people out of the way and go see it. If people are in the middle of the aisle having a conversation i sinply look at ghem and tell them this isn't a fugging park bench get the fugg moving or get out of the way

Heading up in about 15 minutes. Yea, it's a zoo but meeting friends and want to talk to a specific outfitter about an Elk hunt for 2016.

Will likely end up here http://abcbrew.com/brewpubs/harrisburg-brewpub/
