Looking to buy a Remington 700 .17 Classic. I am looking for the one made in 1999. If you have one you are willing to sell please let me know. Thanks!

I am new to the forum but will communicate with seller any way they need. Phone, email....whatever makes you comfortable. I also have this posted on predatormasters.

Thanks

Thanks for the link. I saw that one and talked with the owner. He won't budge on the price and while it's a nice gun even NIB I don't think it's worth that much. Plus I plan on shooting the one I buy. Not a safe queen but would like it in 95% plus condition.

What do they go for these days, in 95% condition?

I live in AZ, Phoenix to be exact. Actually, Fountain Hills, AZ a Suburb of Phoenix. For the right gun and to make a seller feel comfortable I am willing to talk on the phone and can travel to make the purchase. Must talk via phone first.

If you can find one for $725 in nice condition, and you really want that specific configuration, you'd better buy it.
They only made about 3k of them if I remember right.

It can happen. The problem is it is such a specific example that some calibers don't seem to show up on the used market often. Pass one up and it may be a long time until you see it again. I've had my eyes out for a 17 Rem and a 6.5x55 for a long time...During that same time I could have bought several 8x57 and 300 Savages for reasonable prices.
Like the OP-I'm not interested in the GunBroker price either as mine would get used as well.

Picked up nib Bob, Swift and Swede a few years ago....the Bob and Swift are gone and the Swede remains. Local shop has a high condition 7MM 08 Classic that's been languishing on the rack for the last 6 months or so.

Saw a pristine original 700 in 17 this weekend at a gunshow. Beautiful.

My ffl is still at the show, I'll send him a text and see if he can get loose to look for it. I don't remember the vendors name. I want to say it was $695, but I am foggy on that.

That would be great if he could get me the vendors name and phone number. Our next show in AZ isn't until Feb 21st and 22nd. Not a single Classic .17 at our last three shows. Seems like they are feast or famine. Two years ago before I wanted one I saw 4 at one show!!

A really nice BDL (not Classic) sold for $649 today at our local show. I walked by it one too many times and watched somebody else take it home.
No box and a small mark on the triggerguard are all that kept if for passing for new.

Wow! They are out there. I'll keep looking and find one eventually. I did pick up a .223 today for $630. Not a Classic but looks exactly like one. Not the BDL Deluxe stock.

I sold a beautiful NIB 17 Classic to my cousin years ago (cheap!) so I gave him a call today to see if there was any chance he wanted to part with it and he said flat out - "No way! That's my favorite gun!". Hopefully you find one NIB because once somebody shoots it, they're not going anywhere.... wink

Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21.
Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!
