Anyone have experience with a Rock #2 contour barrel on a 6.5 or 7mm hunting rifle? Thinking of one for a 7mm08 build. Thanks.

I have one in 280. 1-8" finished about 23" and a 3/4-1" shank. It's .58-.59 at the muzzle, IIRC.
Cleans well, shoots well. Balances great on a old M70 in an Edge.

I just got a #3 8.5 twist 7mm from Rock. I think it's just about perfect. I'll have it finished out at 24" on a 7mm Mashburn.
FYI, I ordered my barrel around Early-Mid January...the 10th IIRC, and got it yesterday. So that was pretty quick time for a barrel, less than a month. SHOT show delayed it a week too.

I have one on a 6.5 CM, finished at 21.5" Nice short light rig, shoots nice.

Rock contours seem to run pretty svelte, in comparison to most. Not sure how deep a flute they'll cut on a #3 in .284?
On a 7-08 , I'd do the #2 again with the same short shank and trim it to 21-22". Who knows though, the 3 with some shallow flutes might be the shizzle!

Torn between a #2 or a #3 fluted... If you're one of the first 5 orders Monday you can get free fluting ( from their Facebook promo). I have a #2 in .224 I could love one in 6.5 or 7mm

Had a #3 in .284 and it was my favorite contour...I don't see you going wrong with either!

I have 2 #3 contour Rocks on my GAP rifles and like them a lot, but I will definitely be trying the #2 contour next. Love their barrels!

Be pretty dang nice when all done IMHO if wanting the ultimate lightweight rig. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could get my hands on a Rock:) I'm having a new 7MM-08 done right now with a Bartlein 2B contour which should be pretty similar when all done.

I have a Rock #2 chambered in a new to me 25-06 matched up to a Win 70 sitting in a McM edge stock. Balance is great, and shoots superbly. My barrel is old enough Mike Rock was still around when it was made.
I haven't taken her hunting yet. I hunted elk with my 30-06 and hunted deer in a shotgun only area this year, so the 25-06 didn't get any love.

I'm thinking Rock #2 in the new Manners EH6 or EH8... 260 or 708?

I have one in a #3 that is a couple years old and it is easy to clean and accuracy is great but curious to hear about any new barrels bought and installed in the last year

Here is a #2 Rock on a Alpine in a Rimrock. 8 twist 260 AI It shoots very well and cleans easy. I'll buy more Rock barrels.
