This weekend was perfect for February, 55 degrees. I have 2 pounds of H4350 and a custom 30-06 thats looking for a good load. I started with 57.5gns of powder under under a 165gn accubond inside of Winchester case lit by Winchester LRP. Shot over my cronny I was getting avg 2871 fps. First three shots were a nice tight cluster and next two shots 1inch right of cluster. Group size 1.813

I was convinced the last two was all me thinking I must have pulled the shots. So I loaded up 58 gns and sent five shots down range. Muzzle velocity was up to 2908 fps average and just like the first group I had three shot cluster that showed a nice tight cluster and two which went right on me about an inch only this time it was the third and fith shot that sailed. Group size 1.642

I loaded up 5 more at 58.gns and shot again. This time I concentrated more on my hold at the bench. With my right hand I pulled the stock more firmly into my shoulder and supported the rear bag with my left hand. Also I payed more attention to my cheek weld trying to consistently get it the same shot to shot. 5 shot averaged 2913 fps and all five shots went to point of aim. Group size .731

Funny how that works.

Was a great weekend though.

I love the old warhorse! Sounds like there isn't much you couldn't shoot with that load?

Should do a great job of putting venison in the freezer. I really love those accubonds.
