Put her to work Tom. I have a set of high end wood that I am saving for a wrecked K or engraved 1899/95. Starting to appear that the right gun isn't out their. GW

Indeed, the inletting looks sweet. Those crescent butt plates can be a bugger if the initial carving isn't right on. I know, I spent a week of evenings spotting-in one recently, and I still didn't get it quite perfect. (Enough so that I intend to go back into it before I call it done.) Getting the cheeks butted evenly up against the receiver and uniformly from side to side had me reaching for the Sailor Jerry a couple times too. The cheeks are sharp edged nicely too. (But shouldn't those cheeks be rounded at the back end a là 1895 instead of pointy?) Whoever did this stock work is a pro.

A good friend to have! Looks to me like he could make a buck at it if he chose to.
