I wonder why they didn't cut the dead deer's antlers? Maybe the next stop was the taxidermist.

Those antlers were scraped clean. They weren't live. He'll be dropping them in a couple months anyway. I don't blame him for saving the dead deer's rack. It's a nice one.

That ole buck has a story to tell his buds now.

That was a good plan and nicely executed.

Saw this on another site and everyone kept saying the same thing, that they shouldn't have cut the live ones antlers. Why? I can't see how it would be an issue. Its antlers were thinner and easier to cut, and now he doesn't run off with another set of antlers hung up in his rack. Seems like the right choice to me.

where do they get idea that they're live antlers? The velvet is gone. They're DEAD. There's no life left in them.

Besides the lack of velvet, the bucks were fighting. They aren't going to knock heads with live, tender antlers. They don't start until they're dried and DEAD.
