Ever since the memsahib went to Gunsite last fall, she keeps nagging me to take her shooting---at least weekly. Obviously that kind of nagging I want to encourage, but it's getting expensive as for some reason two shooters shoot more than twice as much as one (a quirky shooting-range-phenomena I haven't figure out yet). I found a good deal on Sellier & Bellot 9mm and picked up a bunch of it. Out of the first couple of hundred we've had about a dozen light primer strikes with both a G-19 and G-34. I've fed them all back thru magazines and all have shot on the second strike. I don't recall reading about them having particularly hard primers. Has anyone else had problems with S&B ammo or am I having gun problems?

During the ammo shortage over the past few years I bought and fired several hundred rounds of S&B though my Glocks without a single malfunction. One thing I have noticed is that the red and sometimes green primer sealant they use is quite thick and a lot of it comes off and sticks to the area around the firing pin hole. Other than keeping this area clean, I don't know what else might be causing your problem.

I've had fine luck shooting S&B ammo. Never a problem. Reloading their cases is another issue. But I can't remember ever having a problem shooting it.

I think the only caliber I shot was .45 and maybe .380. Their quality is supposed to be as good as it gets. Certainly better than Russian stuff.

I bought a bunch of their 148gr wadcutter .38s a few years ago and had some problems with it. The accuracy was pretty mediocre and the primers cracked when they were fired. Not cratered or pierced but actual cracks or tears in the primer cup along the sides of the firing pin indentation.

I've shot a few hundred rounds each of 9mm, .38, and .357 Mag.

No issues. (I don't shoot well enough to judge the accuracy of my ammo).

My son & I have run a fair amount of through a couple of G19's & Beretta 92's with no issues at all.

Same for a lot of it in 223 through a couple of AR's.

I've only shot S&B in a .38 and that was years ago.

But for about what S&B costs, we've had great luck with ammo-labs 9mm. We've only shot a few thousand rounds but haven't had any issues at all. The 115grain is incredibly soft shooting.

I've been buying the 9mm ball for range ammo for about a year, when they're on sale.

Haven't had any issues. I like them because they seem to run cleaner than some other range type stuff.

FWIW ...I got 4 boxes of S&B 38 SPL. So far have fired 1 box without any issues.

Had some issues with S&B 38 Spl. loads pulling while shooting a snubby with them. They were the 158 LRN loads I was using for target/Plinking. I can buy better ammo for the same price, so I pass on them.

I don't reload and I've found S&B ammo reasonably priced and clean shooting. I use the 115 grain 9mm and the 230 grain 45ACP ball ammo.
