My 12 yo daughter is gonna go on her first hunt this fall and needs a pack. I need ideas on which packs to look at. I've had her out for a couple weekends and rented kids packs, but they just didn't fit her slender frame. Looking to keep it around $100.

Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

I'd look at used Dana Designs. The small sizes tend to go cheap...

A couple of years ago I bought a Mountainsmith Youth Pursuit backpack for my grand-son.

He was eight then and it was too big.

He's ten now and he has grown into it.

If that doesn't work, then take a look at the Osprey Ace series of youth backpacks.

I just ordered an REI youth pack for my daughter.

But she's only 9 (in a few weeks). This may be too elementary for your needs. Mine won't use it for actual backpacking but a couple times a year and then only for short overnighters.

I have a Dana Designs Terraplane in size small I hope she can use as a teenager. I hope this little REI will serve her for a few years. It is adjustable so we'll see.
