Next time (or now) run screaming outside while tearing the top off and grab a handful of snow and hold it on the burn. After a few minutes of that, put some vanilla on it. Works wonders. Swearing helps also.-Mike

Miss Lynn, believe it or not, try putting some vanilla extract on the first degree burns. Honest.

We keep an Aloe Vera plant on the counter all the time. That juice helps a lot. Then apply Burn Jel and ice.

Hard to offer helpful suggestions without a not-too-close picture of the affected area.

At this point Miss Lynn, I can only wish you rapid healing. Try as I might to find to find a humorous cartoon of an old lady in a flannel nightgown cut up to the chin, and down to the floor, I'll have to settle for this.

Well, I thought of that, but I was too embarrassed to say it.
Not all that far off topic, ideas on a First Aid Kit for the kitchen?

I keep aloe plants around the base of a mahogany tree in my front yard just for this type of thing.
Hope it heals up quick, Miss Lynn!

This Kitchen Burns guy, is he related to Ken Burns that made all of those documentaries?
