Looks like a leopard, to boot! I had posted yesterday, but must have messed up the 'send'. Never had an Appaloosa, until today.

Growing up near Moscow Idaho and the Nez Perce, I learned one thing from owning several Appaloosas:
The real reason the Nez Perce rode the Appaloosa in battle...
To make damn sure they were good and pissed off when they arrived!!!!
Neat picture, thanks for sharing.

So what do you have now after the heavy snow? Appys can dramatically change color over the years. Yours seems to have turned roan.

We had an Appy barrel mare for a few years. She was a smidge over 14h and they would usually let my 10 year old daughter ride her in pony classes. The horse had the heart of a lion and could really turn and burn in barrels and poles. Failed miserably in trot poles as she would not stay at the trot. She was an easy keeper and did great on quality hay with very little grain. Unfortunately our daughter switched to hunter jumper events and the mare was sold. Mare could lope for what seemed like hours. I miss that horse.

If you really had an Appy, you'd know it. That said, I like 'em.
