Bearr264: Back from hunting trip and saw my daughter and got her tomato salsa recipe. It's no big secret apparently as she took it from a "Company's Coming" cookbook although she does play with it a bit, sometimes adding cilantro when she can find it. Here's the basic recipe:

Fresh ripe tomatoes, scalded , peeled and chopped : 9 lbs
Mild green chilies chopped - 3
Large spanish onion chopped -1
Large green pepper chopped-1
Medium red pepper chopped - 1
chopped jalapeno peppers- 3 to 7 depending on taste
Tomato paste- 5 1/2 oz.
White vinegar- 3/4 cup
Brown sugar- 1/4 cup
Coarse (pickling) salt- 1 tablespoon
Paprika- 2 teaspoons
Minced garlic cloves- 2-3 cloves

Combine in large pot and bring to boil uncovered over medium heat stirring occasionally. Boil gently for 60 minutes until thickened to desired consistency. Taste near end of cooking to see if you want to add additional jalapenos or garlic.

Pour into hot sterilized canning jars to within 1/4 inch of top and seal. Hot salsa will make bottles vacuum seal without pressure canning. This recipe makes 5 pints.

Unfortunately now that I have the recipe I expect I'll have to make my own from now on. Son of a gun.

besto.

Sounds like a great salsa stocker!
Probably a little more garlic for our family, but it still sounds edible for sure.

Burn the recipe when you take out next weeks trash, then tell your daughter you lost the recipe! She will feel sorry for you, then start giveing you more jars of salsa.
Other people tell little fibs and come out smellin like a rose.
Remember the now famous saying.......I didn't touch that women, uh, Monica lewinsky..............

What does Monica and a pop macine have in comon??>

They both say insert bill here.

Parts: Big quad palm slobber nose freezer bound, no luck with 6 point elk. Had a great time, miserable weather: rain sleet snow and wind -all told just lovely-saw lots of moose, elk, a wolf and 3 lynx lots of migratory birds, caught some grayling, whitefish and bull trout. Enjoyed my son's river boat no end. Haven't been up the Muskwa since 80/81-it's still a great place.
Luck on your trip.

I am a little slow, never got anything on the moose hunt, others did but not our camp.
Ended up we all got grouse, then went last weekend to Pemberton for deer and got nothing. Never even saw a deer.
