It seems like there aren't any reviews for the new Diamondback HP scopes from Vortex. I'm thinking about trying a 3-12x42 w/ BDC demo from Doug for a 223 bolt gun but would like to hear any reviews that are out there. IMO the original diamondback 3-9x40 was on par with the Burris Fullfield II but I wonder with the jump in price are these new ones still a good buy.

Have one in 4-16. Havent used it yet, but Doug spoke highly of them.

I have the 4-16 version on a .17 Rem Contender barrel. It's nice. While the original Diamondback series was certainly a good scope for the money, the resolution and contrast both seem better in the HP. So far, it has tracked perfectly and shown no shifts in day-to-day POI.

Thanks for the responses. I figure if the glass is a little better and with the improved eye relief, it's not a bad buy. Kind of surprised there's so little info out there about em.

Been wanting to try something different and this one and the Leupold compact 3-9x33 were two on my list. I really like the non-cluttered BDC reticle. powdr
