I measured 40" with a tape measure when I was up last weekend on LOW.
That's just plain old flat hard ice. I'm guessing that's pretty common for that area.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes!!!! It was yet another amazing birthday and what made it even better is I didn't have to work. I was able to spend my day with all the people I absolutely LOVE...my family! I've been checking in from time to time but I'm swamped with working my day job then working my night job in the shop plus trying to keep up with the kids. I think I should quit the day job...it's way way overrated. Well PWM starts running in track season today AND the Black Betty project has started. And RWS starts gun training today. Or is it the other way around RWS - running, and PWM - gun training...ND can correct me. WOW!!! Can you say busy on top of busy? It keeps us young. Take care everyone!

Thanks Dave, the cheater for my old Eskimo should drill 47".
Any thicker ice than that might send me to McDonald's for a fish sandwich.

Hi Richard, Not sure, as I generally fish the lakes north of town. They are @ full auger depth, so guessing the "goon" will be similar. Here's a couple of photos I took at the Kinsmen Ice fishing derby, just off of Government dock, this last weekend. Deb & I probably put 150 miles on the snow machines over the weekend. Weather was beautiful. Run down the lake to Twin Towers for lunch, after Church on Sunday, was uber !!

That sure looks like a good time Paul.
Along with a bit of carpenter work, I'm hoping to get in on some of that fun.
We are packing today for the trip "North".
Thanks for turning the heat up!!!!

Supposed to be nice here in the Twin [bleep] today. Off to buy a riding mower today. Looking at some used Craftsman stuff. Gonna roll the dice on a used one. Just can't bring my self to buy a new one and pay full retail. Sometimes it sucks to be a cheap-azzed bastid!

Got a 15 horse Craftsman (MTD) for $400.00. 'Hope to get a couple years out of it without having to put the first repairs into it.
