I just plopped a Leupold VX-6 on my SS carbon fiber 30-06 x-bolt. I wanted more top end mag for 400 to 600 yard shots. It really likes factory Federal 165gn TSX but not after the 3rd shot with the fluted lightweight barrel. I'm not worried, if it takes more than 2 shots (really one) I didn't do my job correctly. As a leftly I really like the ergonomics for the X-bolt (safety especially) and the short bolt throw. There seems to be a love-it or hate-it relationship with these guns but I am a fan.

Is the carbon fiber just the dipped pattern or is it really the carbon fiber showing? I would guess it's just the pattern.

Dipped pattern.

I have an x bolt in 300 win that makes a 5 round dark hole with handloaded 180 gr partions. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

I have only fooled around with two X-Bolts, a .243 Winchester and a .308 Winchester. Both were VERY accurate and had pretty decent trigger pulls.

I have an X-Bolt in .30-06, that I bought as a backup rifle. It is their gray synthetic model, and it was cheap. I didn't care for the color of the stock at all, and recently had darrenk paint it.
I have only shot factory ammo thru it, but it is so accurate I have hesitated to buy dies, etc. for reloading for it.
Yesterday, I went to the range with a box of Hornady Superformance ammo with their 150 GMX bullet. Shot several 1", three shot groups with it- at 200 yards.
Hornady advertises this ammo at a MV of 3080 fps from a 24" barrel. This ammo went thru the chrono at 3050 fps out of my 22" barrelled X-Bolt, about what I would have expected, 30 fps less from a 2" shorter barrel.

I really like my Mauser derivatives but,...there is an x bolt 22-250 with a 1-9 twist that weighs a trim 6lbs 3ozs that I have been eyeballing for a couple months.think I could get some use from that rifle.

I have a 300 Win Mag X-Bolt Stainless Stalker which serves as my main elk rifle. Great fit and finish, smooth action and a good trigger (3.6lb. from factory). IMO, it is a perfect rifle for mountain hunting. It is light weight, accurate, and mine really likes 180 grain Nosler Partitions PP's. The magazine is solid as well. Because it is light weight rifle, without a Past Recoil Pad, my shoulder can only handle about 15 shots from the bench but, I have never noticed the recoil when hunting. I own a Tikka T3, couple of Rugers, a CZ, a Remington and a Marlin. By comparison it ranks among my favorites.

I bought a browning this past summer in 30-06. It shoots better groups than my Tikka 7mm08. I put a new spring in it and have a great 2 1/2 lb pull with NO creep. I just installed a McMillan stock on it smile

This is the spring I bought:
